Better picture of the great room....
My brother stopped by a couple of weeks ago and snapped this picture of the great room ceiling (taken from the 2nd floor loft). His camera (a nice 8 megapixel kodak) has a much wider angle than mine.We are progressing with the stonework on the outside of the house... more pictures of that soon.

I have to say, the last 45 minutes I spent reading thru your construction blog was not only entertaining and educational, but inspiring!
And this is coming from an artist/builder. Im an artist that grew up in the construction industry. And Ive had a long time goal (now shared with my wife) to build a home as grand as the one you are, with similar custom and personalized points, as the incredible home you are working on now.
While our home construction will not start for years as we are currently renovating a stick frame home in town, I will surely keep an eye on your project and progress.
Thank you so much for documenting this project so well, so far. It is, as I mentioned, inspirational!

Thanks Kenny! Rural Idaho is probably like rural Kentucky, insofar as allowing you the freedom from onerous building codes and red tape that could otherwise keep you from building your dream. Good luck and keep us posted. You could very well start and finish your project before I finish this one!
